The Fortuyn was a ship built in 1722 and owned by the Chamber of Amsterdam of the Dutch East India Company. The ship was wrecked during her maiden voyage in 1724.[

The ship was 800 tons, had a loading capacity of 280 tons and was 44 meters long. The captain was Pieter Westrik, who had a crew of 225 men. The ship left Texel for Batavia on September 27, 1723 and reached the Cape of Good Hope on January 2, 1724. On January 18 it continued its journey from here but was never seen again after this time. What happened to the ship remained a mystery.
